Doug Favor wrote:"He's the son of two well known Utah national champions - George Wilson's NAFC/FC/AFC Gus' Roust About X Dennis Pennington's NFC/FC/AFC Brandilynn Dawn V. Verrige. He was a "bad dude" as a youngster, about more than I could handle with multiple placements in open stake American Field All Age derbies. Just as he was about ready to start his broke dog career he piled it up bad off a cliff hunting chukars and broke his femur, pelvis, maybe his back. Required 3 surgeries, ended up with his right hind leg about a 1/2" shorter than the left. Lost over a year of competition time. Might have been a blessing because I could hang on to him better but he still went on to be the go to dog for day after day week long chukar hunts when the other dogs were all lamed up. The more you hunted him, the stronger and bigger he would get. In competitions, he went on to win 3 shooting dog or all age championships and one shooting dog runner up. The biggest win was the 2004 Idaho State SD Championship - only a couple other shorthairs ever have won an open stake horseback championship. I'm continually wondering if I'll ever have another one like him."
